What is King's Kids? Ministry Focus As an organisation we are passionate about young people. Passionate about God, and about young people hearing the voice of God. KKI (King's Kids International) is an inter-national inter-denominational organisation which started in Hawaii in 1976. It started with one man’s vision to see children hearing God's voice and obeying Him, thus bringing joy to His heart. Since then it has multiplied to over 100 different nations and involves over 140,000 young people world wide each year. We call young people together, from 6 to 18 years old, train them in skills to share the love of God with others, and give them opportunity to do just that. This is usually during the school holidays. In the context of obeying Jesus’ last command, the young people have many opportunities to see God at work in and through them, and as a result, their faith takes on proven reality.
These opportunities include tours both in New Zealand and overseas, with a variety of expressions including Celebration Teams of dance and drama, HANDS Teams of practical assistance, Sports Teams, Prayer and Intercession Teams etc.
We partner with Churches wherever possible to see young people, in the context of the local Church programmes, given opportunity to prove their knowledge of and faith in God, through the practical outworking of their faith. Church based “GO Network” teams are often an expression of such partnership. Radically different expressions of Children’s Church can also result.
Our “Faith2GO!” materials on our Resource page may assist you in your situation. We reach out to the children in our communities with after school clubs and school holiday outreach programmes. We partner with local Churches to see them equipped to run such clubs, building relationship with local unchurched children and their families as the children are visited regularly in their home. Youth cells and adult cells can be a development from these programmes assisting the transition from the familiar to the unfamiliar Church environment.
See our “Faith2GO!” materials on our Resource page for more details. Ministering to the felt needs of the community through the children so that they can hear the good news of the Gospel. They don’t care what we know, they want to know that we care. Food, clothing, assistance with homework, and other aspects of life. Practical expression of the love of God, giving opportunity for the goodness and kindness of God to lead.
